Norma Chassot

New Iberia- Mrs. Francis Chassot, the former Norma Jean Shaver, age 85, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 9:40pm at her residence in New Iberia. Mrs. Chassot was a native of Wayne, Oklahoma and long time resident of New Iberia. She served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II from 1943 to 1945. She loved to read and enjoyed following politics.

Mrs. Chassot is survived by her son, Rodrick Chassot and wife Jane of New Iberia; and her brother, Andrew Shaver of Wayne, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Chassot; her son, Patrick Lee Chassot; and her parents, Hunter and Bess Swartzfisher Shaver.
