Loving Mother and Grandmother Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Clarence A. Guardia, Sr., the former Sylvia Momie Robicheaux, Age 81, at 10:00 AM Monday, February 16, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Mausoleum. Visitation will be Sunday, February 15, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00 AM until service time. A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Guardia worked as a bookkeeper at Robies Food Store for 42 years. She was a past President of both the American Legion Post #26 Auxillary and the 50 Plus Club. She was also a member of the VFW Post 8150 Auxillary. Survivors include her children, Cecile G. Johnson and her husband Charles and Michael Guardia, Sr. and his wife Julie both of Jeanerette and Charles Guardia, Sr. and his wife Dina of Carencro; two brothers, Gus Robicheaux and Elfert Tete Robicheaux and his wife Barbara; two sisters, Thecla R. Broussard and her husband Warren and Marie R. Amato all of Port Arthur, Texas and two daughters-in-law, Elaine S. Guardia of Jeanerette and Celeste T. Guardia of Loreauville; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence A. Guardia, Sr.; son, Clarence A. Sonny Guardia, Jr.; parents, Gustave and Lester Oubre Robicheaux and two brothers, Paul and Francis Robicheaux. Pallbearers will be Tommy Vernon, Chris, Mickey, Jeffrey, Jeremy, Chuck and Greg Guardia. Honorary pallbearers will be Cissy Guardia Benoit and Margaret Guardia.
