Anatole J. Maturin

Lafayette " A Mass of Christian Burial for Anatole Pit Joseph Maturin, 67, will be held at 4:00PM on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Coteau, with Father Barry Crochet officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 2:00PM until 10:00PM, with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 8:00AM until time of service. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum.
Mr. Maturin, a native of New Iberia and resident of Youngsville, passed away at 4:47PM on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at a local hospital. He liked to playing baseball, dancing, taking care of his racehorse and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Bourque Maturin of Youngsville; two sons, Kevin Maturin and wife Tricia of Youngsville, Tommy Bourque and wife Sandra of Kaplan; six daughters, Bonnie Melancon and Becky Frederick of New Iberia, Cindy Gary and boyfriend Chris Touchet of Maurice, Lisa Segura and husband Todd, Sr. of New Iberia, Janet Bourque and husband Timmy Creighton of New Iberia, Tracy Karnousky and husband Adam of Youngsville; twenty two grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; sisters, Alice Dore and Althea Tu-Tut Gaspard of New Iberia; two nieces, Cheryl David and husband Eddie, Sue Derise and boyfriend Don of New Iberia; and his godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Joseph Maturin and Anise Gary Maturin; sisters, Rita Migues and Edna Touchet; and brother, Jules Maturin.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are his children.
