An Amazing Role Model

New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Ralph James Provost, Age 68 on Monday February 23, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Iberia with Msgr Richard Green officiating. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Memorial Park Mausoleum in Jeanerette. A rosary will be prayed Sunday February 22, 2009 at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.

The family is requesting visiting hours be observed Sunday February 22, 2009 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume Monday February 23, 2009 from 8:00 AM until time of the service.

Mr. Provost was a native and resident of Loreauville. He loved being with his family and friends. He never hesitated to help anyone in need. He enjoyed hunting, boating, horseback riding, singing, dancing, playing the guitar and working in his yard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served aboard the USS Bradford. He was Co-owner of Control Devices Inc. for the past 28 years. His passion for work was endless. He was a member of the Port of Iberia Commission. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church Choir and was an active volunteer at the church. He lived his faith daily.

Mr. Provost is survived by his wife Drucilla Dru Dressel Provost of Loreauville; Two Sons, Doyle Provost and his wife Jill and Van Provost and his wife Constance both of New Iberia; One daughter, Stacy Adcock and her fianc Lance Newman of Houston, Texas; Two sisters, Rose Marcantel and her husband Alex of Houston, Texas and Sandra P. Horton and her husband Daniel III of Loreauville; One brother Wayne Provost and his wife Bonnie of Loreauville; his grandchildren, Elise Provost, Allyson Provost, Van Provost, II, and Matthew Norton all of New Iberia, Dillon McNeely of Lafayette, and Gage Newman of Houston, Texas; step grandchildren, Emily Swallows and Andrew Swallows both of Aberdeen, Maryland, and his aunt Florence Seneca of New Iberia. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward Provost and Amanda Seneca Provost.

Serving as pallbearers will be Harvey Dubois, Matthew Norton, Dillon McNeely, Braxton Provost, Daniel B. Horton, IV, and Brian Marcantel.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Lance Newman, Gage Newman, Oswald Breaux, Rufus Breaux, Alex Marcantel, Daniel B. Horton, III and Wayne Provost

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to St Theresa Hospice, 100 General Mouton, Avenue, Lafayette, La. 70501.
