Youngsville " Funeral Services will be held for Mrs. Lillian Guilbeau Dugas, 81, on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at 1:00PM at The David Funeral Home Chapel of Lafayette. Visitation will begin on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 9:00AM until time of the service. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A native of Broussard and resident of Grand Chenier, Lillian passed away on Friday, January 21, 2010 at 6:50AM in Youngsville. Earlier in her life, Mrs. Lillian owned a painting business with her husband Edgar for 17 years before they retired. She went on to work at Plantation Elementary as the cafeteria manager for 20 years before retiring again. A this point in her life, she and Mr. Edgar moved to Grand Chenier to live a simpler life where they enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and cast netting. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden, cooking, and being with her family above all else. It was one of her proudest accomplishments to see the birth of her great great grandchildren, allowing her to see her family of five generations all alive at one time. She is survived by her two sons, Rodney A. Dugas and his wife Fay Landry Dugas of Lafayette, and Hilton J. Dugas of Youngsville; two brothers, Sidney Guilbeau and Paul Guilbeau, both of New Iberia; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fils Guilbeau and Lelia B. Guilbeau Landry; her stepfather, Adelbert "T.B." Landry; four brothers, Travis Guilbeau, Henry Guilbeau, Emile Dob Guilbeau, and Fils J. Guilbeau; and two sisters Electa Granger and Virgin Mary Landry. Serving as pallbearers will be Timmy Trahan, Shane Dugas, Brandon Dugas, Ryan Trahan, Nicholas Jackson, and Williams BJ Geidle. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Fontenot and Mitch Jackson, David Funeral Home Lafayette, 316 Youngsville Hwy., (337) 837-9887 is in charge of arrangements.
