New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Jerry Richard, Age 75, at 11:00AM Monday May 17, 2010 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Mark Derise officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday May 16, 2010 from 11:00AM until 10:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00AM until service time. A native of Scott and longtime resident of New Iberia Mr. Richard died Thursday May 13, 2010 at 1:50PM in a local health care facility. He enjoyed fishing and playing pool. He retired from Loffland Brothers after 35 years of service and he also worked for Ambar for 5 years. Survivors include his wife Susie Duhon Richard of New Iberia; children, Jerry J. Richard of Cecilia, Craig Stevens, Paul Polar Bear Richard and John Richard all of New Iberia, Russell Richard of New Bern, North Carolina, Perry Richard of Harkers Island, North Carolina and Geraldine Richard of Arnaudville; grandchildren, Dustin, Raquel, Zephron and Peyton Richard, Melissa R. Thibodeaux, Trent, Karli, Kindelyn and Jace Stevens and Johnnie and Eric Johnson; great grandchildren, Trey Derouen, Madison Thibodeaux and Nolan Picard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Saul and Amatile Cormier Richard; three sons, Keith Smokey Richard, Carroll J. Stevens and Greg Stevens; a grandchild, Mark Richard; brothers, Reedless and Vorice Richard and Ervin Hebert and sisters, Mylis Richard and Lillian Credeur. Pallbearers will be Jerry Joseph, Paul, Russell and Perry Richard and Craig and Trent Stevens. Jackie Landry will be an honorary pallbearer. David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter St. New Iberia, La.
