Loving Wife Mother and Grandmother Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Benjamin Mickey Rawlins Jr., the former Anna Davidson, at 9:30AM Friday February 27, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow in St. Helens Cemetery in Florence. Visitation will be Thursday February 26, 2009 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Friday from 7:00AM until service time. She died Wednesday at 7:00AM in a local health care facility. A native of New Iberia and longtime resident of Glencoe, Mrs. Rawlins loved caring for and gathering with her family. She enjoyed watching soap operas and caring for her many cats. She loved and was loved by everyone she came into contact with. Survivors include her loving husband of 49 wonderful years; Benjamin Mickey Rawlins, Jr. of Glencoe, five daughters; Dianne Derouen and husband Daniel of New Iberia, Betty Kapsos and companion David Lasseigne of Jeanerette, Jeannie Deshotel and husband Lloyd of Lake Arthur, Linda Derouen and husband Sherwood of Jeanerette and Shirley Verret and husband Britt also of Jeanerette, three sons; Benjamin Rawlins III and wife Crystal of New Iberia, Jimmy Rawlins and wife Dawn and Darren Rawlins all of Glencoe, four sisters; Laura McClain of Loreauville, Brenda Gaspard and Phyllis Boutte both of New Iberia and Alida Mae Morton of Houston, Texas, three brothers; Alfonse Breaux of Youngsville and Dennis and Wilder Breaux, Jr. both of New Iberia, twenty five grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Benny Davidson and Isabelle Leonard Davidson Breaux and one brother; David Breaux. Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Benny, Jimmy E., Nicholas Rawlins, Theodore Kapsos, Jr., Britt Verret, Jr. and James Fields, Jr. David Funeral Home, 400 Provost St. , Jeanerette, La.
