Abbeville " Mrs. Sandra Fruge, 63 of Abbeville joined her heavenly father on June 19th after a long battle with cancer. She was raised in Crossett, AR and has lived in Abbeville for the last 38 years with her husband Phil of 44 years. Sandra was a beautiful person and will be dearly missed by many friends and family members. She served as an inspiration for others by maintaining her courage and faith throughout her life. She was very active in the First Baptist Church of Abbeville and loved travelling, dancing, and family gatherings. Many childrens lives were touched by Sandra during her 25 years of teaching elementary school in Abbeville. She also was a leader at the Council on Aging. She is survived by her husband Phil Fruge, mother Imogene Young of Crossett AR, brother Ralph Jackson of Crossett AR, daughter Kim Redwing and son-in law Clint of Lafayette, daughter Phyllis Reeves and son-in-law David of Duson and son Brendan Fruge and daughter-in-law Maurie of Spring TX, 6 grandchildren, Cody, Tanner, Courtlyn, Ben, Brenna and son-to-be baby boy Jackson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Please join us in remembrance and celebration of her life. Funeral arrangements will be handled by David Funeral Home in Abbeville. Visitation will be held from 10:00 -2:00 on Tuesday, June 22. The funeral services will follow immediately after at 3:00 at the First Baptist church in Abbeville. Graveside service and burial will be conducted in her hometown of Crossett AR the following day. Pallbearers will be Grandsons Cody and Tanner Carpenter, nephew Johnny Jackson of Crossett AR, friend Nick Mouton of Abbeville, Friend Brady Barras of Abbeville, and son-in-law Clint Redwing of Lafayette. The services will be officiated by Pastor Pres Riley of First Baptist Church and Pastor Noah Langley from Hospice of Acadiana. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the numerous friends, neighbors, and fellow church members who brought final moments of joy and support during Sandras last months.
