Lelan R. Good

New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Lelan R. Smokey Good, Age 57, at 11:00AM Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Bullock officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau. Vistitation will be Monday April 6, 2009 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM and again Tuesday from 8:00AM until service time.

A native of Sheldon, North Dakota and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mr. Good was retired as a self employed truck driver. He enjoyed doing mechanic work and spending time with his family and friends. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his two sons. Robert Good and wife Crystal of New Iberia and Clayton Good and wife Beverly of Jackson, Mississippi; his parents, Lelan and Glennie Murphy Good of Sheldon, North Dakota; brothers, Esrom (Rommie) Good of Harrisberg, Pennsylvania, Lynn Allen and Mary Jo Good of Battle Lake Minnesota, Loell (Billy)Good of Renton, Washington and Loyal and Stephanie Good of Paynesville, Minnesota; sisters, Ruth Anne and Al Gallager of Fargo North Dakota, Carol Leigh and Skip Steedsman of Enderlin North Dakota, Helen Jane and Bert Feda of Alexandria, Minnesota and April and Dave Vanderlin of St. Cloud, Minnesota; Grandchildren, Allyce, Hali and Drew Good all of New Iberia and Kaleb Good of Jackson, Mississippi and his loving pet and best friend, Rat , nineteen nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Loran Ray Good.
