New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Nerry Doc Joseph Dore, Age 72, at 10:00AM Wednesday April 8, 2009 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday April 7, 2009 from 12 Noon until 8:30PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume Wednesday from 8:00AM until service time.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia Mr. Dore died Sunday April 5, 2009 in a St. Martinville health care facility. Nerry was a United States Postal Service letter carrier retiring after 33 years of service. He loved fishing and was a past member of the New Iberia Jaycees and a member of the New Iberia Boxing Club. He was also a 1953 Golden Gloves State Boxing Champion.

Survivors include his two sons, Danny T. Dore and his wife Valerie M. and Dwayne Dore; grandchildren, Andrew T., Kyle J. and Dillon J. Dore all of St. Martinville and Brandon Dore of Broussard; one sister, Nella D. Viator and one brother, Allen Dore both of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Levie Viator Dore, one sister, Eula D. Broussard and two brothers, Joseph and Lawless Dore.

Pallbearers will be Danny, Dwayne, Brandon, Andrew, Kyle and Dillon Dore.

Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Dore and Gil Primeaux.
