New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Earl Raymond Gautreaux, age 80, at 3:00 PM Friday March 13, 2009 at St. Peters Catholic Church with Fr. Ed. Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Mausoleum. Visitation will be Thursday March 12, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 10.00 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM until services. A Rosary will be prayed Thursday at 6:00 PM. Readers and gift bearers are his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Gautreaux died Tuesday March 10, 2009 at 6:15 PM in a New Iberia Health Care Facility.
Earl Raymond Gautreaux, a native of Napoleonville, Louisiana, was a Navy veteran. He attended L.S.U. in Baton Rouge for 2 years, was graduated from Soule Business College in New Orleans in 1949 and worked as a bookkeeper/accountant for A&P Food Stores for 5 years before joining National Supply as an office clerk in 1955. He was transferred to New Iberia as Manager of Armco National Supply Machinery Center on Sugar Mill Road until his retirement in 1982 after 29 years. Woodworking was his hobby and relatives and many friends have souvenirs of his special talent. He was a member of the New Iberia Rotary Club.
Remaining to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years: Betty Jean Templet Gautreaux of New Iberia, Children: Douglas D. Gautreaux and his wife Mary of Albuquerque, NM, Kim C. Gautreaux of New Iberia, Grandchildren: Michelle Griffin of Albuquerque, NM, Meghan Gautreaux of Odessa, Texas, Morgan Gautreaux of New Iberia, Elizabeth Gautreaux, Matthew Gautreaux, Monica Gautreaux, all of Albuquerque, NM. Great Grandchildren: Austin Gautreaux, Evangeline Griffin both of Albuquerque, NM. Brother: Robert Gauthreaux and his wife Nan of Hereford, Texas, Sister-in-law: Shirley Gautreaux of Paincourtville, La.
Preceding Earl in death are his Parents: Elie and Lucille Barrios Gauthreaux, Daughter: Kelly Gautreaux, Brothers: Roy N. Gauthreaux, Clyde Gautreaux, Eli Gauthreaux.
Pallbears will be: Phillippe Saunier, Roy Daspit, Danald Babineaux, Harold Robicheaux, Mark Poirrier, and Rickey LeBlanc.
