Broussard " A Mass Christian Burial for Jimmy Jean Dore, 52, will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Keith Landry officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 11:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Delcambre. A native of St. Martinville and a resident of Broussard Mr. Dore died at 1:00PM on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at his residence. Jean enjoyed fishing and was an avid Saints Fan. He was a BYYA coach for over 16 years and a speeding skating coach in Abbeville. It was Jeans request that everyone attending his wake wears Saints attire. He is survived by two sons, Dustin Koning of Broussard and Cory Dore of Abbeville; two daughters, Kelly Koning and Amanda Koning both of Youngsville; his parents, Jimmy J. Dore and Janelle Romero Dore of Broussard; two sisters, Suzette LeGrand of Broussard and Patty Cannino of Cecilia; a granddaughter, Zoey Dore of Abbeville; two nieces, four nephews, six great nieces, three great nephews, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joey Dore Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin Koning, Kelly Koning, Cory Dore, Jason Dore, Brian Cannino, and Amanda Koning. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Travis LeGrand and Jesse Cannino David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337)837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
