Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Wilson Lloyd Pete Benoit, Jr., 52, will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Joe Breaux officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Friday, May 1, 2009 beginning at 10:00AM until 10:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, May 2, 2009 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.
A native of Milton and a resident of Erath Mr. Pete died at 9:40AM on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at his residence. He was employed with Duhon Bro.; a former member of the Erath Volunteer Fire Department; and a member of the Cattle Festival Association.
He is survived by his wife, Tonia Fung Benoit of Erath; two sons, Brock Benoit and Cory Benoit both of Erath; his mother, Annie Mae Romero Benoit of Erath; a step son, Scotty Segura of Erath; two brothers, Alvin Benoit and Larry Benoit both of Erath; eight sisters, Mary Arceneaux of Delcambre, Verna Benoit of Abbeville, Clara Benoit of New Iberia, Nancy Benoit of Coteau, Linda Landry of Erath, Diane Trahan of Erath, Helen Viator of Erath, and Janette Vincent of Abbeville; and five grandchildren, Kelsey Benoit, Andre Benoit, Taylor Benoit, Cohen Benoit, and one on the way, all of Erath.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilson Lloyd Benoit, Sr., two sisters, Annie Benoit, and Ruby Falgout; and two neices, Roxanne Morvant and Megan Arceneaux.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cory Benoit, Brock Benoit, Larry Benoit, Scotty Segura, Trevor Trahan, and Matthew Morvant.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Alvin Benoit and Kelly Trahan
David Funeral Home of Erath at 209 E. Putnam St. (337)937-0405 will be handling the arrangements.
