Abbeville " Annis Anne Rainey Pruett went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Abbeville General Hospital, she was 91. Funeral Services for Mrs. Pruett will be held at 7:00PM on Monday, April 26, 2010 in the David Funeral Home Parlor with Pastor Joseph Boutin of Kaplan, Louisiana officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Monday, April 26, 2010 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM. Her body will then be taken to Dothan, Alabama where Bryd Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Pruett was born to Rev. Lucious Annis and Savanah Brasher Rainey of New Brockton, Alabama. She also graduated from New Brockton High School. Annie and her husband Bill moved to Louisiana in 1996 to live closer to their daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Wayne. Before moving to Erath, Anne lived in Dothan, Alabama where she spent more than 40 years dedicated to retail at JC Penneys before she retired. After moving to Louisiana, Anne attended the Erath Baptist Church where she met many wonderful friends. Anne had a desire to be Christ like and lived always putting God first and living life to the fullest. She touched many lives and was loved by all who met her. She was a wonderful mother, wife, and grandmother and will sadly be missed by family and friends, but be know she is in a better place and we will see her again one day. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Wayne Smith of Erath, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Holly Trahan and her husband Blaine of Kaplan, Louisiana, Brandon Smith and his wife Nicole of Katy, Texas and Heather Vice and her husband Scott of Erath, Louisiana; four great grandchildren, Connor and Cameron Smith and Gracie and Gavin Vice; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 67 years James Bill Pruett; her parents, Rev. Lucious Annis Rainey and Savanah Brasher Rainey; two sisters, Nora Mixson and Beulah Fleming; two brothers, Neal and Hoyt Rainey, and her infant son James Garnet. A special thanks for the care given in her last days by Gloria Lege, Janie Meche, Abbeville General Hospital, and Hospice of Acadiana.
