Marie Louise Fruge Champeaux

Visitation will begin on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM and resume on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 6:30 PM.

A native of St. Martin Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Champeaux died on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 2:20 PM in a Lafayette hospital. She was an avid cook, owned a restaurant and catering service and worked for Peltiers Catering. Her life centered around cooking. She was also a clothing consultant, working at several downtown New Iberia clothing stores.

She is survived by her sons, Glenn J. Champeaux and his wife Sylvia, Ned A. Champeaux, Jr. and his wife Sandy all of New Iberia and Donnie M. Champeaux and his wife Julie of St. Martinville; her sisters, Willie Kebodeaux of Lake Charles and Lula Brawner of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Troy Champeaux of Houston, TX, Cedric Champeaux of Lake Charles, Jason Champeaux of Broussard, Chris Champeaux of St. Martinville and Mary Catherine Hebert of Houston, TX and her great grandchildren, Luke and Grace Champeaux both of Broussard and Andrew and Sophie Hebert both of Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned A. Champeaux, Sr.; her parents, Noah and Adelaide Talley Fruge; her sisters, Emily Lalonde, Claida Castille and Elsie Savoy and her brothers, Pete Fruge, Noah Fruge, II and Wesley Fruge.

Pallbearers will be her sons, Glenn J. Champeaux, Ned A. Champeaux, Jr., Donnie M. Champeaux and her grandsons, Troy Champeaux, Cedric Champeaux, Jason Champeaux and Chris Champeaux.
