Loving Aunt New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Cecil Reeves the former Marjorie Bayard, Age 94, Monday December 28, 2009 at 3:00PM at St. Peters Catholic Church with Father Jude Halphen officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday December 28, 2009 from 10:00AM until service time. A Rosary will be prayed Monday at 11:00AM. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Reeves died Saturday December 26, 2009 at 9:35AM in local health care facility. She was a member of the St. Peters Catholic Church Choir. Her joys in life were traveling, gardening, cooking and being with her family. The family would especially like to thank the staff of Belle Teche Nursing Center, Dr. Burt Bujard and Hospice Compassus and Mrs. Vivian Derouen for their years of love and care. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Compassus, 302 La Rue France, Lafayette, La. 70508. Mrs. Reeves is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Reeves; parents, Jules Laurent Bayard and Ida Vandergriff Bayard; one sister, Ida Mae B. Derouen; brothers, Morris, Alfred, Elmo Sr., Giles and Beverly Bayard and three nephews, Jules Derouen and Bobby Jules and Darren Matthew Bayard and one niece Mary Arden Bayard LeBlanc. Pallbearers will be Steve, Eric, David, Cecil, Alcee and Edwin Roy Bayard, Mark Poirrier and Wynn Derouen. David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter St. New Iberia, La.
