Loreauville- Funeral services will be conducted for Thomas T.J. J. Eldridge, age 79, at 2:00PM Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at David Funeral Home in Loreauville with Fr. Darren Eldridge officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 5, 2010 from 2:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Wednesday from 9:00AM until time of service. A native and lifelong resident of Loreauville, Mr. Eldridge passed away Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 10:40PM in a local hospital. Mr. Eldridge known by his family as Pop and his friends as T.J. was a crane operator for Noble Drilling Company for 25 years. He was a veteran of the Armed Forces (Army) having served his country during the Korean War. He enjoyed many memorable meals with his family and friends, but it was his love for his family that meant most to him. His memory will live forever in the hearts of all who knew him. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Barbara Richard Eldridge of Loreauville; his daughter, Christine Eldridge Morgan and husband Dave of New Iberia; his son, Troy Thomas Eldridge, Sr. and wife Edie Hebert Eldridge of Breaux Bridge; his mother-in-law, Lily Bourque Richard of Loreauville; his grandchildren (whom he adored), Ryan Judice and wife Christy of Lafayette, Skyler Soirez and wife Amanda in the U.S. Army, stationed in Kentucky; Troy Eldridge II and wife Ashley of New Iberia; Keenan Morgan of New Iberia, Toree Eldridge Roy and husband Casey Roy of Lafayette; Jon Garitt and Raven Eldridge of Breaux Bridge; four great-grandchildren, Heleyna Jean Marie Judice of Forth Worth, TX; Trace and TayLon Eldridge of New Iberia; and Cain Joseph Roy of Lafayette; his sisters Juliette E. Broussard of New Iberia; Joyce E. Tartamus of New Iberia; and Marguarite Eldridge Upps of Baton Rouge; numerous nieces and nephews, his best friends, Howard Faucheaux and wife Dawn Jo of Loreauville; and his Godchild, Judith Eldridge Crochet of Loreauville. Mr. Eldridge was preceded in death by his parents, John and Adele Broussard Eldridge, sisters, Connie Lou E. Mckemie and Flo Cutrera, brothers, Gus Allen, Darrel and Keith Eldridge.
