Nona Clark Derouen

December 12, 1931 — June 1, 2011

Lydia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Euphemon Jack Derouen, Jr., the former, Nona Clark, age 79, Sunday June 5, 2011 at 1:00pm at First United Pentecostal Church in Lydia with Rev. Ronnie Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin Saturday June 4, 2011 at David Funeral Home-New Iberia from 3:00pm until 9:00pm. Visitation will resume Sunday June 5, 2011 from 9:00am until service time.

A native of Rockville, TN and longtime resident of Lydia, Mrs. Derouen died Wednesday June 1, 2011 at 5:44pm at her residence. Mrs. Derouen was a charter member of First United Pentecostal Church of Lydia; she dedicated herself to the church and her church family. Nona was an excellent cook; she enjoyed preparing meals for her family; her favorite pastime was watching football and basketball. Nonas most cherished times were those spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Derouen is survived by her son, Tim Derouen of Lydia; daughter, Patti Corley and husband Kevin of Cypress, TX; sister, Sylvia Taylor and husband Buddy of Murfreesboro, TN; brother, Herman Clark and wife Mary Ella of Eagleville, TN; sister-in-law, Josie Pinell of Baldwin; grandchildren, Derek Derouen of New Iberia; Natalie Corley and fianc Chris Johnson of Cypress, TX; and Casey Corley-Al Hammadi and husband Jassim of Abu Dhabi, UAE; great-grandchildren, Shahd and Amani Al Hammadi, both of Abu Dhabi, UAE; niece, Joann Broussard of Charenton and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Derouen was preceded in death by her husband, Euphemon Jack Derouen, Jr., parents, Young Leslie Clark and Nannie Lou Burns Clark, sisters, Ruby Clark Sharber, Effie Price and Elaine Elrod, brothers, Ralph, Bill, Clay, Horace and Burns Clark.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ronald Pinell, Jr., Derek Derouen, Adam Blanchard, Jeff Taylor, Bradley Myers and Hung Ngyuen.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Derouen, Ronald Pinell, Sr., Buddy Taylor and Kevin Corley.
