Floyd Anthony Darby

New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Floyd A. Toupee Darby, age 73, Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 1:30PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help with Fr. Mark Derise officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM with a recitation of a Rosary at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Thursday, May 20, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of service.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Darby passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 4:20AM in a local health care facility. Mr. Darby was a member of the Roller Club and the Mondan Pigeon Club. He also enjoyed watching rooster fights. Mr. Darby retired from Domtar after 33 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Trahan Darby of New Iberia; his son, Chris Darby and his wife Stacey of Lydia; one brother, Terrel Darby, sisters, June Armentor, Diana Fruge and Judy Menard, all of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Katrina Kilgore of New Iberia; Kallam Darby of Loreauville; Kayla Darby of Lydia; Trent Comeaux, Trey Comeaux, Trevor Comeaux and Seth LeBlanc, all of New Iberia; and his great-grandchildren, Laurie Williamson, Adyson Kilgore, Trent Comeaux, Jr., Brianna Comeaux, Tyler Comeaux, all of New Iberia; Zoe Darby and Gabriel Darby, both of Loreauville.

Mr. Darby was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Darby, Jr. and Eunice Dartez Darby, his step-son, Blane Comeaux, his brother, Richard Paul Darby and two infant brothers.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Darby, Kallam Darby, Jud Kilgore, Trevor Comeaux, Donald Armentor, and Stephen Armentor.

Honorary pallbearers will be Seth LeBlanc, Trent Comeaux and Trey Comeaux.
