Maurice - A Mass of Christian Burial for Wendell K. Trahan, 49, will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at St. Alphonse Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Breaux officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Friday, April 30, 2010 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:30PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, May 1, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Alphonse Mausoleum. A native of Abbeville and a resident of Maurice Mr. Trahan died at 7:00AM on Friday, April 30, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Wendell wore many hats in his life. He was a rice farmer; crawfish farmer; owned a seafood catering business, and was an independent car salesman. He was an avid outdoorsmen who love hunting and fishing. Those that had the privilege of knowing him knew of his ability to brighten a room with his laugh and love for people. Mr. Wendell truly lived life to its fullest. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Derouen Trahan of Maurice; mother, Magdalene Duhon Trahan of Maurice; son, Koby Trahan of Maurice; daughter, Victoria Trahan of Maurice; two brothers, Arnold and Danny Trahan both of Maurice; and sister, Lisa Gautreaux of Maurice. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Trahan Serving as pallbearers will be Koby Trahan, Danny Trahan, Arnold Trahan, Edgar Durand, Chris Gautreaux, and Login Gautreaux.
