Abbeville - A time of gathering for Mrs. Ella Mae Hargrave Racca, 75,will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at David Funeral Home in Abbeville. Gathering begins at 9:00AM and ends at 3:00PM. Interment will follow at St. Pauls Mausoleum. A native of Forked Island and resident of Kaplan, Mrs. Racca passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 2:35PM at Kaplan Health Care Center. She loved to garden and enjoyed making crafts. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Smith of Erath, Peggy Ann Caroll of Erath, Melinda Dell Theriot and her husband Rusty of Henry; a son, Lionel James Buddy Racca and his wife Angie of Erath; her former husband, Russell Racca of Youngsville; four sisters, Mae Rose Meaux of Rayne, Ella Jane Dartez of Baldwin, Gloria Dartez of Kaplan, and Annie Lou Dupre of Henry; three brothers, Raymond Hargrave of Abbeville, Otis Hargrave Jr. of Kaplan, and Russell Hargrave of Kaplan; her grandchildren, Joe Smith, Chris Smith, Stacey Carroll, Tracey Barras, Jason Racca, Justin Racca, Jordan Racca, Jared Racca, Ryan Theriot, and Amber Theriot; and her great grandchildren Zowie Smith, Hunter Smith, Ashton Barras and Karis Racca. She is preceded in death by her parents, Otis John Hargrave and Amelia Elsie Vincent as well as her son, Monroe Ray Brother Coleman. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Ryan Theriot, Jordan Racca, Rusty Theriot, Joseph Smith and Jared Racca. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Dupre. David Funeral Home of Abbeville, (337)893-3777, 2600 Charity Street, will be handling the arrangements.
