Justin Larive, Sr.

Jeanerette- Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Justin Larive, Sr., age 91, Monday, May 24, 2010 at 10:00AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors to be conducted by U.S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be Sunday, May 23, 2010 from 2:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the Rosary being recited by his close friend Fr. Ed Degeyter. Visitation will resume Monday, May 24, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of service.

A native of Vermillion Parish and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Larive passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 2:50PM in a local hospital. He was a past member of Knights of Columbus of Jeanerette and American Legion Post #26. Mr. Larive proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Larive enjoyed fishing; crawfishing and he loved to dance.

Survivors include his loving companion, Leona Thibodeaux of Jeanerette; his daughter, Sherry Bradley and companion Dennis of Jeanerette; his sons, Jesse Larive and wife Carolyn of Berwick; James Larive and companion Eulos of Jeanerette; Doney Larive, Sr. of Houston, TX; and Justin Larive, Jr. of Jeanerette; his brother, Lionel Larive and wife Esther of New Iberia; his sister, Linda Louviere and husband Melvin of Irving, TX; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Larive was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Ayo Larive, his parents, Ovignac Larive and Zelma Courvillier Larive, one son, Gerald Larive, brothers, Santive Larive, Norris Larive and Linus Larive, sisters, Bernadette Larive, Ima Chauvin and Leona Martin.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lane Larive, James Larive, Jr., Darren Larive, Brady Larive, Dwaye Larive, Don Larive, Jr. and Perry Hull, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Larive, Sr., Jesse Larive, Doney Larive, Sr. and Justin Larive, Jr.
