New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Joseph Terrell the former Mercedes Trappey, Age 85, at 2:00PM Thursday April 9, 2009 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Richard Fabre officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitaton will be Wednesday April 8, 2009 from 4:30PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Thursday from 9:00AM until service time. A native of Jeanerette, resident of Avery Island for 54 years and resident of New Iberia for 5 years Mrs. Terrell died Tuesday April 7, 2009 at 6:25PM in a local health care facility. Survivors include four daughters, Eleanor T. Dore and husband Randal, Bertha T. Myers and husband Lonnie and Mary Jo T. Smith and husband Mike all of New Iberia and Elizabeth M. Terrell of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Trisha M. Tourney and husband Nathan, Marsha and Grant Myers, Stephanie D. Leleux and husband Skip, Valerie D. Hebert and husband Seth and Matthew, Phillip and Maggie Smith all of New Iberia; one sister, Dorothy T. Rice and one brother, George J. Trappey, Jr. both of New Iberia. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph R. Joe Terrell, parents, George J. Trappey, Sr. and Eleanor Gonsoulin Trappey and a grandson, Byron T. Dore. Pallbearers will be John Terrell, Michael Trappey, Skip Leleux, Seth Hebert, Grant Myers and Nathan Tourney. Memorial contributions may be made to Shadows on The Teche or The Iberia Parish Library.
