Verline Broussard Bailey

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.

A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Bailey died on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 5:20 PM in a local nursing facility. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Bailey was the Assistant Manager of the Diamond Shamrock Service Station on Lewis St. in New Iberia. She was a Den Leader with the Cub Scouts and loved working with crafts and puzzles.

Survivors are her husband, Milton Bailey of New Iberia; her sons, Michael Bailey and his wife Cyndi and Charles Bailey and his wife Lisa all of New Iberia; her daughter, Penny Goodrich of New Iberia; her brother, Nolan Broussard of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Toby, Jason, David and, Kristy Bailey, Thomas and Gerald LeBlanc, Kelly and Tanya Goodrich all of New Iberia, John Edwards of Cade and Benji Labiche of Crowley; her great grandchildren, Justin , Payton, Ethan, Kayla and Madison Bailey all of New Iberia, Austin and Wyatt Edwards both of Cade, Evan and Parker Labiche both of Crowley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Nelies Delcambre Broussard; her son, Melvin Bailey; her brothers, Junius and Vernest Broussard and her sister, Velta Robin.

Pallbearers will be Jason, Toby, Justin and David Bailey, Gerald and Thomas LeBlanc.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles and Michael Bailey.
