Youngsville " A Mass of Christian Burial for Willis Romero, 87, will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father Keith Landry officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 from 10:00AM until 10:00PM with the recitation of the Rosary by Mable Romero at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 8:00AM until service time. Interment will follow at St. Anne Mausoleum. A native and resident of Youngsville, Mr. Romero passed away at 9:15PM on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family. He enjoyed farming, spending time with his grandchildren, singing and playing the accordion, and playing jokes on people. He also loved sitting outside with his wife every evening. Mr. Romero served in the Army during World War II and was a member of VFW Post 9210. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Laura Mae T. Romero of Youngsville; his children, Betty Trimble and husband Lonnie, Sr. of Youngsville, Russell Romero and wife Deborah of Youngsville, Cathy Trimble of Broussard, Lawrence Romero and wife Linda of Youngsville, Alberta Broussard and husband Danny of Broussard, Stacy Viator and husband John of Broussard, Gaylon Romero and spouse Angela Lopez of Youngsville and Casey Romero and wife Cindy of Youngsville; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Hulin of Youngsville and Una Terrebonne and husband Woodrow of Coteau; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ozife and Editha Romero; ten brothers and sisters; son-in-law, Stephen Trimble; and grandson, Mitch Trimble. Serving as pallbearers will be Casey Romero, Cathy Trimble, Lawrence Romero, Alberta Broussard, Stacy Viator, Gaylon Romero, Lonnie Trimble, Jr. and Colbie Romero. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Romero, Tyler Romero, Brandon Broussard, Tommy Trimble and Lucinda Romero. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana, Maydell LeBlanc and Mable Romero.
