New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Joseph W. Bergeron, Age 81, at 11:00AM Wednesday April 15, 2009 at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Father Richard Fabre officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday April 14, 2009 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Wednesday from 8:00AM until service time.

A native of Eunice and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Bergeron died Saturday April 11, 2009 at 6:45PM at a local health care facility. Mr. Bergeron was a member of VFW Post 1982.

Survivors include his wife, Carmen Medina Bergeron of New Iberia; three daughters, Diana Broussard and husband Glenn of New Iberia, Brenda Hebert of New Iberia, Debi Tauzin and husband Sully of New Iberia; one son, Robert Bobby Bergeron and wife Vanessa of St. Martinville; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 6 step-children.

He was preceded in death by his parents; George Bergeron and Chlothide Latiolais, 5 brothers, 2 sisters; his former wife, Cora Lee Bergeron; and a great-grandchild Raven Lee Derouen.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Bergeron, Brenda Hebert, Diana Broussard, Debi Tauzin, Gregg Derouen, Chad Hebert, Charlie Castille, and Carrol Castille.
