New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Ernest Boone Poirrier, age 85, the former Gussie Badeaux, at 11:00 AM Wednesday April 15, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Derise officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday April 14, 2009 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume Wednesday April 15, 2009 from 8:00 AM until time of service.

A native of Youngsville and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Poirrier died Monday April 13, 2009 at 12:32 AM in a New Iberia Health Care Facility.

Survivors include her children: Eugene Gene Poirrier and his wife Adele of New Iberia, Ulysse Tonkin Poirrier, Sr. of New Iberia, Uwell Poirrier and his wife Patricia of Carencro, Uray Poirrier and his wife Jeannie of Lafayette, Eula Beb Walker and her husband Elton of New Iberia. Brother: Wiley J. Badeaux and his wife Mary Lee of Jeanerette, Sisters: Anna Mae Blanchard of Loreauville, Joann Tyler of New Iberia, 19 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great "Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Ernest Boone Poirrier, daughter-in-law: Rena M Poirrier, grandson: Eric Poirrier, great grandson: Tyler Walker, brothers: Fred Badeaux, William Badeaux, Raymond Badeaux, Clarence Badeaux, and Lotto Badeaux, sisters: Vernice Badeaux and Eula Mae Badeaux.Pallbearers will be: Eugene Poirrier, Uray Poirrier, Elton Walker, Ulysse Poirrier, Jr., Jude Poirrier, Kevin Poirrier.Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ulysse Poirrier, Sr., Uwell Poirrier, Troy Poirrier, Tony Poirrier, Clint Walker, Kent Walker, Rickey Poirrier, Neal Poirrier.
