Ann Derouen Boudreaux

LAFAYETTE " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Alton Boudreaux, the former Ann DeRouen, 96, will be held at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, 13 May 2010. Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen, her nephew, will conduct the services. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home in New Iberia on Wednesday, 12 May 2010, between 6:00p.m.and 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 6:00PM. Mrs. Boudreaux died on 9 May 2010 in Lafayette where she was living with Msgr. DeRouen. She had a wonderful life, filled with contentment and joy. She and her husband Alton loved to dance and had a host of friends throughout the years. She is survived by two special nieces, Mrs. Janette Cochran of Cold Spring, Texas, and Mrs. Audrey Fought of Port Arthur, Texas. She spent the last year and a half with her nephew, Msgr. Keith J. DeRouen of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Emile Buster Guillot and her second husband of fifty-five years, Alton Boudreaux; her parents, Olivier DeRouen and Corinne Le Tulle DeRouen; her brothers, Adolph Joseph, Oda Joseph and Lucius Joseph; her sisters, Emily D. Hulin, Hilda D. Duplantis, Effie Fitch Duplantis, Elmire D. Louviere, and Edith Ann DeRouen. Msgr. DeRouen joins Mrs. Cochran and Mrs. Fought in thanking Dr. Ken McCarron of Lafayette, Concepts of Care Home Health, St. Theresa Hospice and Aunt Annies helpers, Mrs. Judy Dupuis, Mrs. Gerry Sonnier, Mrs. Pat Comeaux, Mrs. Jerry Penn, Mrs. Shirley LeBlanc, Mrs. Marella Hardy, Mrs. Rita Hebert, Ms. Sherry Comb, Mrs. Denise Lanclos and Mrs. Diane Olivier in Lafayette, and Mrs. Vergie Matthews and her daughter Theresa, helpers in Beaumont. The Family likewise thanks Mr. Richard Zuschlag/Acadian Ambulance and Mrs. Alberta Lyons/Amelia Manor Nursing Home for their help in time of need. Serving as pallbearers will be members of her family. Music will be provided by Mr. Tom Niel, Cathedral Director of Music and Organist, Mrs. Jodi Bollich, vocalist and Mrs. Lauren Baker, violinist.
