Jeanerette- Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Ronald J. Possum Guillotte, Jr. age 60, Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 1:30PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Derise, Fr. Jody Simoneaux, Fr. Jerry Young, Fr. Matt Dupre, Fr. John Arnone and Deacon Theo Landry officiating. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of a Rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Thursday from 9:00AM until the time of service. Musical selections of Amazing Grace, A Closer Walk with Thee, On Eagles Wings and Ave Maria will be sung by Karen Guidry. A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mr.Guillotte passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 at 10:24AM in a local hospital. Mr. Guillotte received his degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1971. He began employment at St. Mary Sugar Cooperative in 1972, working in the laboratory. In 1973 he was appointed as the Chief Chemist, and in 1974 was promoted to Assistant Fabrication Superintendent. May 1, 1981 Mr. Guillotte was appointed to Chief Engineer, and on November 22, 2000 and became the General Manager of St. Mary Sugar Cooperative Inc. Mr. Guillotte was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish Council and was an avid golfer. He served as a Board Member of American Sugar Cane League (ASCL), American Society of Sugar Cane Technologies (ASSCT), SUGAR Growers and Refiners, Inc. and Louisiana Sugar Cane Products, Inc. (LSCPI). He currently served on the ASCL State Legislative Committee, the Processor Committee and has in the past served on the Finance, Dedicated Research, Political Action and National Legislative committees. Survivors include his wife, Monica Hebert Guillotte of Jeanerette; two sons, Jeff Guillotte of Lafayette and Victor Guillotte of Jeanerette; his father Ronald J. Guillot, Sr. an uncle, L.C. Buddy Clement and wife Gail, an aunt, Shirley Jean Clement and his father- in-law and mother- in-law, Ronald and Romona Comeaux Hebert all of Jeanerette. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Clement Guillot; his aunt, Shirley Hebert; his paternal grandparents, Victor and Lena Kern Guillotte and his maternal grandparents, Louis and Iva Lee Clement. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Sherville, Micky Pugh, Ronald J. Hebert, Jr., Glenn Hebert,Keith Hebert, David Thibodeaux, Chris Mestayer and Huey Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat and Brian Napier, Dwight Thibodeaux, Joe Tusa, Drapeau Sherville, Tommy Hebert, Larry Coppell, Will Terry, L.C. Buddy Clement, Will Legendre and Dickie Bell.
