MelbaS. Stephenson New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Francis F. Stephenson, the former Melba Stephenson, age 84, at 10:00 AM Tuesday June 2, 2009 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Estes officiating. Interment will follow with a graveside service at 3:30 PM at Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston, LA with Pastor Rick Byargeon officiating.A native of Hico, LA and a resident ofRuston, LA.Mrs. Melba passed away Sunday May 31, 2009 at 8:02 PM at the residence of her son in New Iberia, LA.
Visitation will be Tuesday June 2, 2009 from 8:00 AM until services at David Funeral Home.
She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Ruston, LA and a graduate of Louisiana Polytechnic Institute in 1944 with a degree in Business Administration.
She is survived by her husband: Francis Stephenson of Arcadia, LA, Son: Louis J. Perkins and his wife Cindy of New Iberia, A, Step daughters: Fran Squyres and her husband Jerry of Pearland, Texas, Beverly Canterbury and her husband Mike of Arcadia, LA, Grandson: Christopher E. Perkins and his wife Kelly of New Iberia, LA, Granddaughter: Mary Romero and her husband Clay of Broussard, LA, Brother Wayne Stephenson and his wife Janet of Bossier City, LA, Step Granddaughters: Alicia Upchurch and her husband Marcus of La Port, Texas, Allyson Schaff and her husband Chuck of Pearland, Texas, Angela Waggoner of Houston, Texas, Lindsey Selucky and her husband Kevin of Tucson, Arizona, Step-Great grandchildren: Elizabeth Upchurch, Andrew and Nathan Schaff, Cody Waggoner, Sean and Austin Selucky.
She was preceded in death by her first husband: William LaFay Perkins, Parents: James Warren and Ruby Farley Stephenson, Sister: Hilda S. Thomas.
