Abbeville - A mass of Christian burial for Donna Suire " Brown, 55, will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Abbeville at 2:00PM on Thursday, June 4, 2009 with Father Greg Chauvin officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from11:00AM to 9:00PM with recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 9:00AM until funeral time. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery in Abbeville.

Donna a native of Abbeville, resident of Youngsville passed away at her residence after a brief illness of lung & bone cancer. Graduate of Mt. Carmel, Vermilion Catholic, Gulf Area Voc Tech, and University of Southwestern Louisiana with a Baccalaureate degree in nursing. Was employed by Our Lady of Lourdes hospital as a registered nurse and by Dr. Stephen Abshire & Dr. James Arterburn as a physician extender and was a licensed Real Estate Agent. Over the 29 years at OLOL she was a mentor for many new nurses on 3 East. Received the Franciscan Service Award "Donna inspired trust and admiration from patients and family members, physicians and staff." She had a love for life and was always happy and loved the sunshine. She always found the good in people and everyone that met her loved her. She had many, many friends. Donna was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Her hobbies included interior design, sewing and painting.

Survived by her husband of 17 years, Stanford Brown of Youngsville, father Luther G. Suire of Abbeville, brother, Christopher Suire & his wife Connie of Abbeville, sister, Nicole L. Suire of Houston, Texas, niece, Erica Ottmers-Pitman & her husband Justin of Crosby, Texas and nephew, Carson J. Suire of Abbeville.

Preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Gastinel Suire, sister, Lydia Suire-Ottmers, and Grandparents: Victor & Blanche Bienvenu Gastinel and Oscar & Marie Schexnayder Suire.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Broussard, Dr. Philip Gastinel, Glenn Suire, Alan Bryant, Frank Musso, Buck Gastinel and Rixby Marceaux, Jr. Honorary Pallbearer will be Carson Suire.

It was the wish of Donna to thank Dr. Stephen Abshire, Dr. James Arterburn, Dr. Jody Rosson, Dr. Edward Lyons, Dr. Michael Cain, Dr. Henry Kaufman, Dr. Gerald Miletello and staffs, family, friends and Hospice of Acadiana for taking care of her and for everyone that prayed for her during her illness.
