Interment will follow in Beau Pre Mausoleum. Visitation will begin Wednesday April 29, 2009 at 9:30AM at David Funeral Home in Jeanerette. A native and resident of Lafayette, Mr. Fitch died April 27, 2009 at 12:21PM in a Lafayette hospital. He was employed by GeorgeLift Truck Service as a mechanic. Survivors include his father, Huey P. Fitch of Lafayette; his mother, Edell Gerhart Welchof Lafayette; one son, Jason Wade Fitch; one daughter, Ashley Nicole Fitch both of Savannah, TN; brothers, Huey P. Fitch, Jr. of Spring, TX., and Walter Dean Welch of Baton Rouge; sisters, Courtney E. Fitch and Angelle A. Fitch; nieces, Emily C. Fitch and Grace N. Fitch; and one nephew, Hunter T. Fitch, all of Lafayette; his paternal grandparents, Walter and Lena Armentor Fitch of Jeanerette. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Remas D. Finch and Paul M. Finch, his step-father, Dean Welch; and his step-grandparents, Bridget and Walter Lejeune. Pallbearers will be Huey Fitch, Jr., Hunter Fitch, Jason Fitch, Eric Landry, Walter Welch, Waylan Bourque, and Bill Bassett. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to V.F.W.
