Lee Jay Leger

Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Lee Jay Leger, Sr., Age 70, at 11:00AM Monday May 25, 2009 at David Funeral Home in Jeanerette with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday May 24, 2009 from 2:00PM until 10:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00AM until service time. Military graveside services will be conducted by VFW Post 1982.

A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Leger enjoyed music and crafts. He was also an avid fisherman and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include four daughters, Bonnie Leger and fiance Michael Gary of Jeanerette, Connie Leger of New Iberia, Tammy Segura and husband Bryan of New Iberia and Nellie Derouen and husband Kim of Jeanerette; two sons, Rodney Leger and wife April and Larry Leger and fiance Patricia Hazell all of New Iberia; one brother, Autry Leger of Jeanerette and one sister, Juliette Thibeaux of Kaplan; 13 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Lee Jay Leger, Jr. and his parents, Joseph and Levie Smith Leger.

Pallbearers will be Scott David, Larry Leger Jr., Jarett Leger, Jonas Leger, Rusty LaPorte, Darryl Boudreaux Jr., David Delahoussaye Jr. and Bryan Segura Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Luke Hebert, Autry Leger and Bryan Segura, Sr.
