Anne Friedrichs Flotte

New Iberia " Memorial services will be conducted for Mrs. Charles H. Flotte Sr., the former Anne Friedrichs, age 89, on Friday August 27,2010 at 4:30 PM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Slidell, LA.Visitation will begin at 3:30 PM.Inurnment was held Thursday August 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Lake Lawn Metairie cemetery.

Mrs. Flotte was a native of New Orleans, and a resident of New Iberia and a long time resident of Slidell. She died on Sunday August 22, 2010 at 1:05 AM at her residence.

Mrs. Flotte was president of the P.T.A. from l968 to l969, and president of P.T.A.s at numerous schools in Slidell.Shewas a member of the Republican Womans Club and was named outstanding Republican Woman in l975. She was a member of the St. Tammany Parish School Board from l970 to l976, and was first place in the Spelling Bee in l994 from the St. Tammany Literacy Foundation. In 2001 she was awarded for Community of the Arts and City of Slidell for years of contributions to the Cultural Riches of the Community, founder and president of the Slidell Symphony for many years. Mrs.Flotte was on the Board of Zoning Adjustments form l982 to l997, a long time member of the Slidell Garden Club, She created and sold handmade Teddy Bears for many years.

She is survived by her children: Charles H. Flotte, Jr. and his wife Joan of St. Martinville, Barbara A. Leone of Fredericksburg, VA, Louise F. Coughlin and her husband David of Lake Bluff, Ill, Ellen F. Goodwin and her husband Jack of Richmond, VA, Brother: Christopher C. Friedrichs of Folsom, LA, 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Husband: Charles Herbert Flotte,Sr., Parents: Dr. Andrew V. Friedrichs, Sr. and Anna Crawley, Brother: Andrew V. Friedrichs,Jr. Sisters: Virginia F. Dupre, Ellen F. Bergen, Elizabeth F. Bruns.
