New Iberia " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Peter Triviz, Sr., 85, will be celebrated on Monday May 31, 2010 at 2:00PM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. The Rev. Steve LeBlanc will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette. Visitation will be held on Sunday May 30, 2010 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM at David Funeral Home in New Iberia with a Rosary recited at 6:30PM. Visitation will continue on Monday May 31, 2010 from 8:00AM until service time.

Mr. Triviz passed away on Thursday May 27, 2010 at 6:10AM in a Lafayette Hospital . A native of Las Cruces , New Mexico , Mr. Triviz had lived in New Iberia since 1970. Prior to moving here he lived in the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic for many years where he served in various capacities associated with the sugar industry. Graduating from New Mexico State University with a degree in mechanical engineering, Pete and Camille, his wife who he wed in 1946 embarked on an adventure that would take them to Pittsburgh then on to La Romana. Dominican Republic where he was the fabrication superintendent for over 20 years then on to the Bahamas with Owens Illinois and a new sugar project and finally

Petes hobby was playing bridge clubs just so more people would learn to play thus creating more partners to play with. Both he and Camille were accomplished players who early on achieved life masters status with the American Contract Bridge League. Pete enjoyed baseball and football, watching his grandsons play little league and lived to see the saints win the super bowl. He never missed any Louisiana College baseball game he could watch and rooted for all.

Survivors include his sons, Peter F. Rick Triviz, Jr. and wife Karen and Ronald S. Triviz and wife Giovana all of New Iberia; grandsons, Garrick, Derek and Brent Triviz all of New Iberia, Daniel Triviz of San Antonio, Texas and Eli Triviz of Denham Springs; granddaughters, Keely Oleske and husband Stephen of Scott, Chastity Wolfe and husband Joshua of New Iberia and Amy Triviz of Baton Rouge; great grandchildren, Drew and Drake Thibodeaux of Scott, Stryker Oleske of Scott and Madison, Aubree, Kailey and Kaiden Wolfe all of New Iberia; nieces, Irene Valdez of Denver, Colorado and Rita Triviz of Las Cruces, New Mexico and nephews, Fred Triviz and wife Maggie and Poncho Triviz all of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Peter was preceded in death by his loving wife, the former Camille Sarabia; his daughter, Lorraine ; son, Charles Gerry ; his father, Pete Triviz; mother, Leonor Soto Triviz; brothers, Alfred Triviz and wife Tita, Edward E. Triviz and nephew Bobby Triviz.

Pallbearers will be Garrick, Derek, Brent, Daniel and Eli Triviz and Joshua Wolfe.

Honorary pallbearers will be Karl Richard and Stephen Oleske.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place , Memphis , Tn. 38105. Pete will be remembered for his wit, patience, willingness to teach and most of all for his kindness to all of his family.
