Robert E. Williams

New Iberia - Funeral services for Robert Bobby Williams, 56, will be held on Tuesday, May 5th, 2009 at 2:00pm at David Funeral Home. The Reverend Corey Endsley will officiate. Interment will follow at Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 3:00pm to 9:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm at David Funeral Home, and will continue Tuesday at 8:00am until service time at 2pm in the funeral home.

Mr. Williams passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at 1:50am at his Coteau residence. A native of Lamar, CO, Mr. Williams was a New Iberia resident since 1957. He served in the U.S. Airforce in 1972 for 2 years, Air National Guard for 4 years. He was a Reconditioning Foreman when he retired with Shell 28 years; he then became a Drilling Consultant with ENI for nearly 5 years. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group since 2005. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to the casino, riding his Harley and listening to good ole country music. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather (Pop), brother, son-n-law, and uncle.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Guillot Williams of New Iberia: a daughter Nichole Williams Broussard of Coteau and her husband Carl and their children Brandi and Cole Prejean and Christian and Haley Broussard; a son Jason Wayne Williams of Coteau and his wife Shawnee, and their children Caleb David and Jacob and Madison Williams; a sister, DeWana Williams Barras of New Iberia and her husband Marvis; nieces and nephews, Billy Williams of New Iberia and his son Bailey; Donnie Worsham of Austin, Gary Worsham of New Iberia and his wife Jessica and their daughter Erin, Melissa Endsley of Corpus Christi, TX and her husband Rev. Corey and their son Jon-Marc; DeEtta Leap of Crowley, TX and her husband Troy and their daughter Karrine. Other survivors include his Mother-n-law and Father-n-law Freda and Joseph Guillot of Coteau Holmes, and brother-n-laws: Alfred Guillot of Loreauville and his wife Sherry and their children Beau Guillot wife Christy and their children Joshua and Collin, Jade and Zack Olivier; Jimmy Guillot of Kilgore, TX and wife Phyllis and their children, Jeffery, Jamie and family, and Joshua, and Timothy Guillot and his significant other Cindy and his children Tye, Crystal and Christopher; and sister-n-law Judy Burton Williams and her family.

Preceding Mr. Williams in death were his parents Edwin Wayne and DeEtta Irene Smith Williams and brothers Wayne Leroy Williams and Earl Wilbur Williams.

Serving as pallbearers are Jason Williams, Carl Broussard, Beau Guillot, Billy Williams, Donnie Worsham, and Gary Worsham.

Named as honorary pallbearers are Marvis Barras, Alfred Guillot, Jimmy Guillot, Timmy Guillot, Troy Leap, Billy Stiles, Marc Lowrey, and Robert Burton.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to St. Josephs Hospice of Lafayette, 1003 South Hugh Wallis Road Suite F4, Lafayette, La. 70508.
