Funeral services for Ms. James O. Robertson the former Doris May Boudreaux, Age 79, will be officiated by Rev. Robert Liner on June 3, 2010 at 2:00PM at David Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time at David Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at the Memorial Park Cemetery at 402 W. Admiral Doyle Dr. in New Iberia. Doris May Robertson has gone on to be with her Lord and many immediate family members on May 31, 2010 after being ill since 2005. Ms. Robertson was preceded in death by: her father, Beverly J. Woodrow, mother, Yetta Boudreaux, husband, James O. Robertson, Jr., Three sons, James O. Robertson, III, Joseph B. Robertson, Beverly J Robertson and three grandsons, Timothy Moore, Jonathan Moore, Vernon Leslie Murrell, Jr. Ms. Robertson is survived by: her mother, Lena Woodrow, sister, Beverly J. Noble, four daughters, Darlene C. Robertson, Robbie N. Steno, Helena C. Robertson, Tasha M. Nelams and one son, Donald W. Robertson; thirteen (13) grandchildren, thirty-two (32) great grandchildren, one (1) great-great grandchild, two aunts, many nieces/nephews and many adoring friends, co-workers and business acquaintances. Ms. Robertson was a very strong-willed, loving and caring lady, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, granny and friend. From 1958 to the mid 70s Doris and her husband were licensed Pentecostal ministers. They were pastors of churches in New Iberia, Franklin, Palmetto and Boyce Louisiana and Fayetteville Arkansas. Her husband was a retired communication officer for the Louisiana State Police. She worked as a nurse at Opelousas General Hospital from 1972-1998. She was known as the nurse that was always humming as she took care of her patients; as well as, the nurse with all of the little goodies she personally bought for her patients. After she retired, she became a commissioned Louisiana notary along with her daughter, Darlene. They started a notary business in May, 1999 known as Double D. Notary on Union Street in Opelousas. She lived in the house that resembles a ginger bread house when it is lit up for Christmas along with her alligators and Cajun themed decorations. Her passion was actually working in her yard and helping in the decorating of her home for Halloween and Christmas. She loved doing the decorating for the people of Opelousas in order to spread some holiday cheer; especially, to all of the children. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and the City of Opelousas for all of the loving services and care she provided. . Pallbearers are her grandchildren: Tasha Nelams, Robert Murrell, Jesse Murrell, Jason Ortego, Willie Ortego, Tuerling Ortego, Shane Lyons, and Travis Moore. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Robertson, Donnie Steno. David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter St. New Iberia, La. (337)369-6336 is in charge of arrangements.
