Leroy J. Delahoussaye

A native of Vermilion Parish and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mr. Delahoussaye died Tuesday June 1, 2010 at 1:38PM in a Lafayette hospital. He was retired from Rex Milling after 15 years of service. Mr. Leroy worked for Tides Production for 10 years then became self employed delivering oilfield equipment. He was an active member of the Farmers Market. He grew his own garden, loved to bowl, go to the casino and play cards.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Earline Hulin Delahoussaye, a daughter, Deborrah D. Sundberg, two grandsons, Christopher J. Delahoussaye and Jake M. Sundberg, a great grandson, Tray Laviolette Delahoussaye, his brothers, Mercy and wife Gloria, Nelson and wife Ella Mae, Gerald and Presley Delahoussaye all of New Iberia and Ewell Delahoussaye and wife Hazel of Bull Island.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ignace Tee Nee and Edith Trahan Delahoussaye, one brother, Dennis J. Delahoussaye and two sisters, Aline D. Romero and Elia D. Buteau.

Pallbearers will be Christopher, Mercy, Gerald, Nelson and Ewell Delahoussaye and Thomas Herman Romero.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jake M. Sundberg, Gene and Todd Romero, Tray Laviolette Delahoussaye, Dimitri Derouen and Logan Laviolette.
