Loreauville- Funeral services will be held for Mr. Emmette A. Smokey Carline, Jr., age 66, at10:00AM Saturday May 16, 2009 at St. Elizabeths Church in Coteau Holmes with Father Joe officiating. Interment will follow in St. Elizabeths Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday May 15, 2009 from 4:30PM until 10:00PM. Visitation will resume Saturday May 16, 2009 from 8:00AM until service time. A native of Bayou Chene and resident of Coteau Holmes, Mr. Carline died Thursday May 14, 2009 at 6:30PM in a local hospital. Mr. Carline was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was employed with Texaco for 30 years and was a hard worker. Smokey enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Melancon Carline of Coteau Holmes; his son, Troy Carline and wife Crystal of Coteau Holmes; his daughter, Leala C. Vollmer and husband Terry of Savannah Ga.; one step-daughter, Angel Verret; one step-son, Sandy Woody Horton both of Loreauville; two sisters, Jeanette Wisdom of St. Martinville and Joyce Rebert of New Iberia; one brother, Ralph Carline of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Lindsay and Brooksie Carline of Coteau Holmes, Trey Verret and Cameron Fryman of Loreauville; and one great-grandchild Peyton Broussard of Coteau Holmes. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy and Ronnie Carline; his sister Julia C. Pointer; and his parents, Emmette and Cornelia Daigle Carline, Sr. Pallbearers will be Ryan Stelly, Jimmy Chavez, Trey Verrett, T-Boy Stelly, Woody Horton and Gerald Wisdom.
