Abbeville- Funeral Services for Mr. Michael L. Maliden 50, will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at David Funeral Home Chapel of Abbeville with Rev. Primeaux officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Monday, July 12, 2010 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of services. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. A native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Abbeville Mr. Maliden died at 2:32PM on Friday July 9, 2010 at a local hospital. He was known as a strong man in his beliefs and where he stood, with a deep love for his family and was willing to give to anyone in need. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed photography, Loved his dog Rock , He was a self taught computer wiz, Loved to work, and liked to travel. He is survived by his wife, Kim Pate Maliden; five sisters, Roxie Mire of Abbeville, Lisa B. Hastings of Abbeville, Anna Barras of Erath, and Dawn Rashall of Midland, TX; beloved pet, Rock; step-son, Christopher Gary Franks of Winnsboro; two step-daughters, Holly F. Boffy of Milton, and Karla Raine Franks of New Orleans; step-grandson, Pierce Thomas Boffy of Milton, four half brothers and one half sister He was preceded in death by his grandparents that raised him, L.L. Cook Sr. and Beatrice Nichols Cook; a sister, Cindy Wright; one brother Jerry Wright; and his mother, Dorothy C. Buras. Serving as pallbearers will be Brody Meaux, Francis Cavalier, Gerald Guidry, Sr., Gerald Guidry, Jr., Randy Hastings, and Tyson Pate.
