Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Paul Primeaux, 77, will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, May 18, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Wayne Duet officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, May 18, 2009 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. Mr. Primeaux a native and resident of Erath died at 9:45PM at a Lafayette Hospital on Friday, May 15, 2009. Mr. Donald served his community as a teacher, coach, and principal for over 35 years. He was a teacher and coach in Delcambre; a teacher, coach, and principal in Erath; and the last two years of his career he was a principal at Longview Prep School in Lafayette. He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict; was a member of the American Legion Post 279, and Veteran of Foreign Wars, and the Knights of Columbus. He was also known for his enjoyment for card playing, fishing, dove hunting trips, and LSU sports. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances Lange Primeaux of Erath; two sons, Daleon and his wife Louisa Primeaux of Erath and Kurt and his wife Nicole Primeaux of Houston, TX; a brother, Johnny Primeaux of Abbeville; three sisters, Virgie Richard of Erath, Faye Desormeaux of Broussard, and Madeline Duhon of New Iberia; seven grandchildren, Dr. Kayla and her husband Jeremy Soirez, Leah Primeaux, Casey Primeaux, Marisa Primeaux, Elise Primeaux, Kyle Primeaux, and Lily Primeaux; and two great grandchildren, Cameron and Mason Soirez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Lucille Faulk Primeaux; and a sister, Virginia Frioux. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Primeaux, Marion Desormeaux, Ronnie Duhon, Tony Richard, Jeremy Soirez, and Jimmy Desormeaux. Serving as honorary Pallbearer will be Richard Frioux, and Durice Richard. David Funeral Home of Erath at 209 E. Putnam St. (337)937-0405 will be handling the arrangements.
