New Iberia Irene Kelly Young died Friday May 29, 2009 at her daughters residence in Tampa, Florida from a stroke. She was 90. Irene was born in Gainesville, Texas, lived for 56 years in New Iberia, La and moved to Tampa in 2002 to live with her daughter. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help St. Anns Society. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Young Jenkins of Tampa, Florida; a son, Russell J. Young, Jr. of Covington, La.; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 9:00PM Wednesday June 3, 2009 with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM and from 8:00AM until service time Thursday June 4, 2009 at the David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter St. in New Iberia. A Mass will be said at 9:30AM on Thursday June 4, 2009 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
