New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Claude L. Vice, Sr., 84, on Monday, May 25, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Salvino "Fr. Ruben" Primor officiating. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 24, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM and on Monday, May 25, 2009 from 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6:30 PM.
A native of Port Neches, TX and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Vice died on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 2:15 PM at his residence. He retired from Domtar Industries, the salt mine at Cote Blanche after 19 years of employment. Prior to working at the salt mine he was employed in the oil field industry. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy. He loved gardening, was an LSU and Saints Fan, enjoyed horseracing and especially loved his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Bonin Vice of New Iberia; his daughters, Sheila Wells and her husband Keith of Abbeville and Cathy Vice of New Iberia; his sons, Claude Vice, Jr. and his wife Tammy of New Iberia, Keith Vice and his wife Kristin of Denham Springs, Roy Vice and his wife Rhonda of Dayton, OH and Rusty Vice and his wife Stephanie of Rayne; his brother, Douglas Vice and his wife Peggy of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Michael and his fiancee Caryn and David Thompson and his wife Laura, Robert, Richard and Aaron Wells, Chad Vice and his wife Candice, Cody Vice and his wife Keri, Christian, Coy, Danielle, Olivia, Jacob Paul, Samuel, Kayla, Jacob Thomas, William and Nikolaus Vice and Holden Sanches and his great grandchildren, Jaida Cantrell and Zane Vice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvy and Lucrez LeBlanc Vice; his brothers, Julius, Preston, Calvin, Forrest, Daniel and Johnny Vice and his sisters, Daisy Armentor, Winnie Stracener, Sister Audrey Vice and Gloria Vice.
Pallbearers will be Michael and David Thompson, Cody, Christian, Coy and Samuel Vice, Robert Wells and Holden Sanches.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chad and Candice Vice.
