Olive Bonin Spence

New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Howard Spence, the former Olive Bonin, age 88, Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 3:00PM at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Roland Fontenot officiating. Intermemt will follow at Beau Pre Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Saturday, July 17, 2010 at David Funeral Home New Iberia from 10:00AM until the time of service.

A native of Avery Island and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Spence passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 2:15AM in a local hospital. Mrs. Spence was a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 35 years. Olive enjoyed bowling and loved to spend time with her family.

Mrs. Spence is survived by her son, Brian Spence and wife Nancy of Richmond, TX; granddaughter, Jennifer Richard and husband John of New Iberia; grandchildren, Kristi Spence Wildung of Pullman, WA; Zachary Spence of Aurora, CO; Raymond Spence and Callie Spence, both of Richmond, TX; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cameron, Claire, Ben and Brian, and her neice, Beverly Trahan of Avery Island.

Mrs. Spence was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Spence, her son, Carey Spence, her parents, Theodose Bonin and Elena LeBlanc Bonin, her brothers, Ted Bonin, Ram Bonin, and Bill Bonin, her sisters, Elise Bonin and Aline Viator.

Serving as pallbearers will be Caleb Spence, William Broussard, Jerry Viator, Raymond Bonin, Elverse Trahan and Marty Trahan.

Honorary pallbearer will be Cleve Dugas.

The family would especially like to thank the staff at New Iberia Manor South and Hospice of Acadiana.
