R. Gordon Guilliot

Youngsville " A Mass of Christian Burial for R. Gordon Guilliot, 74, wil be held at 11:00AM on Friday, June 12, 2009 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Fr. Mouton officiating. Visitation will be at St. Anne Catholic Church on Friday, June 12, 2009 from 10:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Anne Cemetery. A native and resident of Youngsville Mr. Guilliot died at 12:30AM on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was a member of the Iberia Cattlemens Association; Owned and operated 3G Custom Fitters Inc. a cattle operation; He exhibited Brahmans and Santa Gertrudis cattle thruoghout the U.S. and abroad. He was inducted in the fall of 1980 as a member of the American Cattle Bredders Hall of Fame. and was known for his enjoyment of working with cattle, the land, and rodeos. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doloria Dee Broussard Guilliot of Youngsville; his mother, Anna Belle Landry Guilliot of Youngsville; two sons, Blane J. and his wife Tammy G. Guilliot of Youngsville, and Clint P. Ceppy Guilliot of Youngsville; a daughter, Ellie Guilliot of Youngsville; and four grandchildren, Taylor Guilliot, Tess Guilliot, Torie Guilliot, and Niki Lyn Guilliot. He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Gordon Guilliot. Serving as pallbearers will be Carl Fontenot, Shep Batson, Archie Batson, Barney Karonika, Don Delahoussaye, and Al Laine, Jr.. David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337)837-9887 will be handling the services.
