Amelia Broussard Leger

New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Ignace Leger, Sr., the former, Amelia Broussard, age 95, Friday, July 23, 2010 at 2:00PM at David Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia with Fr. Richard Green officiating. A recitation of the Rosary will be at 11:30AM. Visitation will be Friday, July 23, 2010 from 10:00AM until the time of service. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

A native of Broussard and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Leger passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 3:30PM at her residence. Mrs. Leger enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family and loved to dance.

Mrs. Leger is survived by her sons, Welvan Sonnie Leger and wife Beulah of New Iberia; Ignace Junior Leger, Jr. and his wife Saundra of New Iberia;her daughter, Norma Leger of Crowley; her sister, Rita Quibodeaux and husband Huey of New Iberia; 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren , step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Leger was preceded in death by her husband, Ignace Leger, Sr., her daughter, Gloria Ann Leger, her parents, Adonis Broussard and Annastie Trahan Broussard, her sisters, Estelle Broussard Dyson, Lelia Broussard Viator, and Alicia Broussard Girard, her brothers, Billeus Bruce Broussard, Wilton Broussard andKossute Broussard, her step-grandson, Jeff Cunningham, and her step-granddaughter, April Enrique.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Quibodeaux, Dewain Collet, Darrin Etie, Nathan Leger, Anthony Leger and Troy Leger.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ignace Jr. Leger, Jr., Ed Gore and Branden Leger.
