Broussard " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Cecil T. Chatman, Jr. the former Phyllis Broussard, 58, will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Duhon officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday, August 20, 2010 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. A native of Erath and a resident of Broussard Mrs. Chatman died at 6:45AM at her residence on Thursday, August 19, 2010. She taught the 5th Grade at Youngsville Elementary for over 15 years. She is survived by her husband, Cecil T. Chatman, Jr. of Broussard; a son, John Chatman and his wife Rochelle of Broussard; a daughter, Claire Carluen and her husband Elvin of Broussard; her parents, Joseph and Ledie Boudreaux Broussard of Erath; a brother, Gerald Broussard of Henry; a sister, Marla Broussard of Kingwood, TX; and three grandchildren, Harrison Becnel, Darin Carluen, and Rebecca Carluen. She was preceded in death by a brother, Glynn Broussard. Serving as pallbearers will be members of the friends and family. David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337)837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
