Linda Fay Freyou Trahan Loving Mother and Grandmother New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Linda Fay Freyou Trahan, age 60, Thursday, February 25, 2010 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church at 11:00AM with Fr. Donovan Labbe officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 24, 2010 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM with a recitation of a Rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume Thursday from 8:00AM until the time of service. A native and resident of New Iberia, Linda passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer, Monday February 22, 2010 at 12:50PM at her residence in New Iberia with loved ones by her side. She was a member of the Catholic High Mothers Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 20 years, Lydia Cancer Association and was the founder of Grief Support Group at St. Peters Catholic Church. Linda was a hairdresser for over 15 years; she was the owner of Lookin Good for 8 years and worked at Kutz Plus. She loved to cook, dance, cross stitch, sew and make rosaries. Linda was also a member of the James Trahan Refrigeration cooking team. Survivors include her mother, Emma Dell Provost Freyou of New Iberia; her son James Paul Trahan and wife Kristine Smith of New Iberia; granddaughters, Jenna Nicole Trahan and Emily Katherine Trahan of New Iberia; brother, David Freyou of Commerce, Ga.; her companion Walter Reed Freeman of New Iberia; her godchildren, Willard Andrew Trahan, Christie F. Thibodeaux, Jason Trahan, Abby Trahan Dupuis, Sybil Falgout and Jeaneen Freyou, nephews and nieces, Stephen Freyou and wife Tracey Rodriguez Freyou and their daughters Jeaneen and Chelsie Freyou, all of Loreauville, Christi Freyou Thibodeaux and husband Vincent and their daughters, Caitlyn and Nicole Thibodeaux, all of Baton Rouge; Carla Trahan Villmerette, Connie Schexnaider and husband Bennett and Carl Trahan all of Lake Arthur, Willard Andrew Trahan and wife Emily of Kaplan, Jason Trahan of New Iberia, Abby Trahan Dupuis and husband Chad, great nephew Andrew all of Lewisville, Texas, Claire Fruge Richard and husband Ryan, great nephew Nicholas, Sarah Fruge all of Loreauville; brother in law, John A. Trahan and wife Gay of New Iberia; her former husband Wayne Trahan; her best friend of 33 years, Paula Dooley; sister Marian Fruge and husband Jerry of Loreauville. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy John Freyou, her grandparents, Marie Anastasia Broussard Freyou, Simon Joseph Freyou, Lenore Trahan Provost, and Despany Provost, her mother and father-in-law, Lorida Miguez Trahan and Dudley Trahan, Sr. Serving as pallbearers will be James Trahan, Stephen Freyou, David Freyou, Walter Reed Freeman, Bobby Falgout and Stephen DeVilliler. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Wayne Trahan, John A. Trahan, Deanna Charpentier, Lucille Bouy, Tilda Judice and Hilda Blanchard.
