Kaplan " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Kerney J. LeMaire, Jr., the former Helen Abshire, 62, will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Broussard officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Friday, January 7, 2011 beginning at 5:30PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:30PM and will remain open until the time of the services on Saturday, January 8, 2011. Interment will follow at Abshire Cemetery. A native and resident of Kaplan, Mrs. LeMaire died at 11:05AM on Friday, January 7, 2011 surrounded by those she loved. She was a loving mother and grandmother, known as a hard worker, and her willingness to help someone in need. She also enjoyed outings to the casino. She is survived by two daughters, Radena L. Touchet and her husband Craig, and Tonya L. Touchet and her husband Scott both of Kaplan; a brother, Pervis Abshire of Kaplan; two sisters, Ethel Gesser of Charleston, IN and Bea Cable of Underwood, IN; four grandchildren, Taylor LeMaire, Bryant Touchet, Braxton Touchet, and Lexi Touchet; and a great grandchild, Parker Hebert. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kerney J. LeMaire, Jr.; a son, Kevin LeMaire; her parents, William and Enola Trahan Abshire; two brothers, Doris Abshire and Hubert Abshire; and two sisters, Adia Hebert and Mildred Abshire.
