Loreauville " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. David Romero, Sr., the former Elgin Hebert, 89, on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Buddy Breaux officiating. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 10:00 AM until services. A native of Kaplan and a resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Romero passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 3:37 AM at her residence. The family would like to express their special thanks to her caregivers, Lorin Leather, Leatrice Landry, Gayle Cain, Gayle Romero, Pam Romero and Tammy Guilbeau. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Kenu Romero, Sr. and his wife Bernice of Loreauville and David Romero and his wife Sue of New Iberia; her grandsons, David Keith Romero and his wife Monique, Troy J. Romero and his wife Felicia all of New Iberia, Kenneth P. Romero, Jr. and his wife Monique and Brent A. Romero and his wife Stacey all of Broussard; her great grandchildren, David K. Romero, II, Connor Romero, Camryn Romero, Caroline Romero, Amelia Rose Romero, Kate Sumner Romero, Austin D. Romero and Tucker J. Romero; her step-grandchildren, Kristi B. Thomas and Jy Babin and a great great grandchild, Parker Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Goat Romero, Sr.; her parents, Alsa and Effie Trahan Hebert and her brother, Roy James Hebert. Pallbearers will be David K. Romero, David K. Romero, II, Kenny Romero Troy Romero, Brent Romero and Conner Romero. Honorary pallbearers will be her great granddaughters and great grandsons. The family request no flowers.
